Make a Plan to Vote - Vote Early!
- Registered to Vote? Visit https://registertovote.ca.gov/. The last day to register to vote online for November 3, 2026, General Election is October 19.
- Make your voice heard, vote early! Return your ballot by mail as soon as you receive it. County elections officials will begin mailing ballots by October 5.
- Ballots can be dropped off at a drop-off location, county elections office, or returned by mail. Secure ballot drop-off locations open by October 5.
- Skip the lines on Election Day. The first vote centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties on October 24. In-person early voting locations throughout California will be open on Saturday, October 31.
- To ensure your ballot is postmarked by Election Day make sure to mail it at least 7 days in advance. Mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before November 3.
- If mailing a ballot on November 3, get a manual postmark from a postal employee inside a United States Post Office.
- November 3 is the last day to vote in-person or return a ballot by 8:00 p.m. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
