Following are links to abbreviated summaries of bills enacted into law that may directly affect filings made and business conducted with the Business Programs Division of the California Secretary of State's office:


Most enacted bills go into effect on the first day of January of the following year. Urgency bills, and certain other measures, usually take effect immediately after they are enacted into law. For a complete copy of a particular bill, or to research other legislation that does not impact filings made with the California Secretary of State's office, please refer to the Bill Information section of the California Legislative Information website.
