Legislation and Regulations

The Victims of Corporate Fraud Compensation Fund (VCFCF) was established by Assembly Bill 55 (Chapter 1015, Statutes of 2002). This legislation amended Sections 1502 and 2117, and added Section 1502.5, to the Corporations Code.

The Secretary of State was charged with developing and adopting regulations regarding the administration of the VCFCF and the eligibility of victims to receive compensation. The regulations were adopted and became effective March 9, 2004.
