Partner Spotlight: Organizations for Civic Engagement
For our next Partner Spotlight, we would like to show appreciation to the League of Women Voters of Sacramento County (LWVSC) for their efforts in community engagement. The LWVSC is a nonpartisan organization founded by women, open to everyone interested in promoting inclusive practices and empowering voters within the area.
As a trusted Promote the Vote California Partner, the LWVSC worked diligently over the past few months to inform the public about eligibility requirements, how to register to vote, check their registration status, and their various voting options available for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election. In addition to their distribution of our Promote the Vote Partner social media, they created their own clever social media posts to keep their members informed and ready to vote! How could anyone “fur-get” to register to vote if they saw League of Women’s post of a fluffy friend in an Uncle Sam hat?
In addition to their social media efforts, LWVSC also distributes VOTE411, a nonpartisan online voter guide with information as it appears on a voter’s ballot. They champion accessible information that is tailored to their specific county at no cost to the public.
The LWVSC consistently creates an inclusive environment to engage local voters. This past October, the LWVSC worked with the Asian Law Caucus to discuss the November 4th Statewide Special Election in a live webinar. This allowed for real-time connection and collaboration within the community to not only highlight why they should vote, but also how they are able to vote in the various methods California has to offer. They even included a question-and-answer segment to clarify any questions the public may have!
The LWVSC doesn’t stop there, they even support youth outreach efforts and educate future voters in Sacramento County! This year, they worked with high school students and held civic education events and voter pre-registration and registration drives. The organization also works with the local Girl Scout troops, mentoring the youth and teaching them how civic engagement can be just as sweet as their dark chocolate mint cookies!
We love how the LWVSC works to maintain focus on serving communities within Sacramento that have low rates of registration and voter turnout. It is so important for all voices to be heard, and we appreciate the work they do to ensure that. Promote the Vote California is proud to call them our partner.
