Candidate Filing Deadline Extended in Congressional and Legislative Districts Where No Eligible Incumbent Has Filed

SACRAMENTO, CA – State law provides that the candidate filing period for congressional and state legislative races extends if an eligible incumbent does not file to run for re-election. California Secretary of State Alex Padilla announced that the candidate filing period had been extended to close of business on December 11, 2019 for the following districts:

U.S. House of Representatives

District 8
District 50
District 53

State Assembly

District 13
District 25
District 33
District 37
District 38
District 57
District 67
District 78

On December 26, the Secretary of State’s office will release the Certified List of Candidates for all federal and state races.
