Secretary of State Alex Padilla Announces Public Meeting on CAL-ACCESS Replacement System

SACRAMENTO – Secretary of State Alex Padilla will hold a public meeting to provide the public an opportunity to share their thoughts and recommendations about desired features of a completely new version of CAL-ACCESS, California’s online campaign finance and lobbying reporting system.

The current system, launched in 2000, is outdated, unstable and lacks modern features.  The legislature, working with Secretary of State Padilla, approved legislation authored by Senator Hertzberg that calls for the complete rebuild of the system, directing the Secretary of State to develop and certify for public use an online filing and disclosure system for campaign statements and reports that provides public disclosure of campaign finance and lobbying information in a user-friendly, easily understandable format.
