State Elections Chief to Visit Mira Loma High School
Students Casting Ballots in Mock Presidential Election

WHAT:
Secretary of State Debra Bowen will visit Mira Loma High School as students cast ballots in the MyVote California Student Mock Election. Mira Loma is one of more than 1,300 California schools scheduled to vote in this civic engagement program, which helps cultivate the voters of tomorrow. Secretary Bowen plans to announce the statewide results of the student mock election on October 31.
Visuals will include:
  • Students casting unofficial votes for U.S. President and U.S. Senator, as well as the 11 statewide propositions on California's November 6 General Election ballot.
  • Students voting in voting booths run by student election officers.
  • Secretary Bowen talking with students about the importance of voting.
  • A festive campus atmosphere with student-made posters about the propositions.
