The CARS Project Team has selected Salesforce as the new platform for CAL-ACCESS. The following news and references are for the previous solution (prior to 2020) and may no longer apply. Current updates can be found on the CARS Project homepage.

Phase I – Project Initiation and Planning

During this phase of the CAL-ACCESS Replacement System project, the Project Team (Secretary of State [SOS], Perspecta and PCC) plans the design, development and implementation of the CAL-ACCESS solution and defines milestones to be achieved before final deployment and go-live. The resulting roadmap informs several management activities throughout the life of the project.

Phase II – System Requirements Confirmation, Architecture and Design

During this phase of the CAL-ACCESS Replacement System project, the Project Team develops the design and delivery specifications for the new CAL-ACCESS Solution. Each milestone achieved progressively conveys the vision for the new system.

Phase III – System Development, Testing, and Deployment

During this phase, the Project Team executes the plans and roadmap created in Phases I and II.  Activities include development, training, testing, deployment and go-live of the new CAL-ACCESS Solution.

Phase IV – First Year Operations and Closeout

Commencing immediately after completion of End-to-End Acceptance Testing, confirmation of the Final Deployment Deliverable by SOS and the new CAL-ACCESS Solution go-live, the Project Team enters the operations phase before closing out the project.
