California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D., Issues Statement on Passage of 2026-27 CA State Budget
 

Sacramento, Calif. – California Secretary of State Shirley, N. Weber, Ph.D., issued the following statement on the signing of the 2026-27 CA state budget by Governor Gavin Newsom:

“I applaud Governor Newsom and the Legislature for investing in California’s elections and recognizing the importance of building on the strong progress already made. The funding provided to the Office of the Secretary of State and county election offices will help us strengthen our systems and meet the evolving demands of election administration through continued investments in staffing, technology, and voter education. Our democracy is only as strong as our willingness to protect it, and that requires meaningful support to turn that commitment into action.”
