California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D., Announces Randomized Alphabet Drawing for April General Law City Elections

Sacramento, CA – California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D., announced that her office will hold a randomized alphabet drawing on January 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to determine the order in which candidates’ names will appear on the April 14, 2026, General Law City Election ballots.

The Random Alphabet Drawing will be viewable in person and via livestream.

• In person: California Office of the Secretary of State, 1500 11^th Street, 5^th Floor, Sacramento, California.
• Livestream: Credentialed media must RSVP to SOSPress@sos.ca.gov to receive the Zoom link for the livestream.
