California’s Bizfile Online Celebrates First Anniversary
SACRAMENTO, CA – The California Secretary of State’s business filing portal bizfile Online for Business Entities celebrated its first anniversary on April 7th. The bizfile Online portal was created to assist the existing 2.9 million active California registered businesses as well as provide online filing services for future California businesses that need to register a Corporation, Limited Liability Company, or Limited Partnership, or to update existing entity records.
“Bizfile makes it easier to file initial business documents, search existing businesses, file trademarks and to keep up with regular filing obligations," said Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D. “Those interested in creating a new business should take a little time to become familiar with the bizfile portal and its features at bizfileonline.sos.ca.gov/.”
Key features of bizfile Online include:
· Detailed online user guide
· 70 online submission wizards covering 145 business filings
· Detailed filing tips contained in wizard steps
· Multifactor authentication for enhanced security
· User-controlled access to online entity records to help prevent business identity theft
· Routing of documents electronically for multiple signatures prior to submission
· Online expedite service for time sensitive filings
· Online business name reservations
· Online orders for certified copies and Certificates of Status
· Enhanced business search with 17+ million images of Corporation, Limited Liability Company and Limited Partnership filings which can be downloaded for free
In May, the Secretary of State will celebrate the fifth anniversary of its award-winning AI powered chatbot – Eureka the Bear, who appears in the lower right-hand corner of the bizfile main page. Eureka can help answer questions related to businesses, trademarks and notaries public and help you quickly navigate the Business Programs website in both English and Spanish.
