California Secretary of State Releases February 10, 2021 Report of Registration

SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, Secretary of State Dr. Shirley N. Weber released the latest Report of Registration which reflects data as of February 10, 2021. A record 22,154,304 Californians are registered to vote, which is 88.03% of eligible Californians, compared to 77.9% at the same point 4 years ago.

“Voter registration in California continues to grow, following a historic November 2020 General Election, where we experienced record voter registration and record turnout in the midst of a pandemic,” Secretary of State Dr. Shirley N. Weber said. “In fact, more than 17.7 million Californians cast ballots in the General Election.  Now California has reached another major milestone, with 22.1 million citizens registered, which is 2,721,695 more registered voters than there were at the same point in 2017.”

“I am proud of Californians who want to be active participants in our democracy. While the next statewide election is not until 2022, many counties and cities are holding local elections in 2021. Voters who have already registered to vote should make sure their voter registration is up-to-date — including your address, political party, and vote-by-mail preference,” said Weber.

Californians can register to vote or update their voter registration online at: registertovote.ca.gov.

The Report of Registration includes:

• Voter registration by political party, county, city, congressional district, state senate district, state assembly district, state board of equalization district, county supervisorial district, and political subdivision.
• Statewide voter registration by age group and by county.
• Historical comparisons to previous reports in odd-numbered years.
• Voter registration by political bodies attempting to qualify as political parties (by county).
