Secretary of State Alex Padilla Joins with Civil Rights Leaders to Call on Congress to Fund Elections Immediately

SACRAMENTO, CA – Secretary of State Alex Padilla is joining with The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), American Association of People with Disabilities, and the Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda, along with Representative Terri Sewell (AL-07) for a press briefing teleconference to call on Congress to immediately provide funding for the upcoming November elections. The call will take place on Wednesday, August 5, at 10:30 a.m. PDT and comes on the eve of the 55th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act.
