Secretary Padilla, LA County Registrar, Yvote and Student Volunteers to Urge
Pre-registration at March for Our Lives

 

LOS ANGELES – California Secretary of State Alex Padilla is teaming up with the Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters' office, Yvote, and student volunteers to urge Angelenos participating in March for Our Lives to register and pre-register to vote.

Earlier this month, Secretary Padilla announced that a total of 88,700 16- and 17-year-olds have pre-registered to vote in California since the program launched in September 2016. Since that announcement, more than 3,000 California teens have completed pre-registration applications with the Secretary of State.

California’s 16- and 17-year-olds can pre-register to vote online at registertovote.ca.gov. Their registration is activated when they turn 18.

10:45 - 11:15 a.m. - Secretary Padilla will be at the voter registration and pre-registration booth located at First St. and Broadway St.

9:00 a.m. – 1:30p.m. – Voter registration and pre-registration booth will be staffed for march participants located at First St. and Broadway St.
