Reception Honoring Former Legislative Analyst Elizabeth Hill’s Submission to State Government Oral History Program

SACRAMENTO- A reception marking former Legislative Analyst Elizabeth Hill’s submission to the State Archives’ State Government Oral History Program will be held at the California Museum on Tuesday, January 12 at 5:00pm. Hill and California Secretary of State Alex Padilla are both scheduled to speak at the reception.

Hill was California’s nonpartisan Legislative Analyst for 22 years, until her retirement in 2008. Widely regarded as one of the state’s most trustworthy budget experts, she is respected for her office’s annual analysis of the Governor’s budget proposal, fiscal and policy advice to the Legislature, and impartial analyses for all ballot initiatives. Elizabeth Hill’s reflections on her career are contained in a new oral history produced by the Center for California Studies at Sacramento State. The oral history will be deposited with the California State Archives.
