Secretary of State Alex Padilla to Testify in Support of California New Motor Voter Act

Secretary of State Alex Padilla will testify in support of Assembly Bill (AB) 1461, the California New Motor Voter Act, at the Assembly Transportation Committee hearing on Monday, April 27, 2015. The New Motor Voter Act allows data already being collected by the DMV to be provided to the Secretary of State to register eligible voters. Modeled after the recent “New Motor Voter” law in Oregon, AB 1461 could add millions of additional citizens to California voter rolls. Voters will be provided the option of opting out of registration.
