Randomized Alphabet Drawing Set for November 3

Will Determine Order of Candidate Names in Local Elections

Secretary of State Alex Padilla will make a major announcement regarding the voting rights of thousands of Californians who are subject to alternate sentencing for low-level offenders under Realignment. The announcement comes two days before the 50^th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 being signed into law.

Secretary of State Alex Padilla’s staff will hold a randomized alphabet drawing to determine the order in which candidates’ names will appear on the November 3, 2015 local election ballots.
