Partnership Makes One-Stop Shop for
State and Local Election Results in California

SACRAMENTO - The California Secretary of State has collaborated with the Center for California Studies and the Institute for Social Research at California State University, Sacramento, to provide results for county, city, community college, and school district elections through 2012 in addition to state election data at sos.ca.gov/elections/prior-elections.htm.

Known as the California Elections Data Archive (CEDA), the partnership represents the only comprehensive repository of local election results in California and one of a very few such databases on local elections in the United States.

"Compiling election results for more than 6,000 local jurisdictions is no easy task," said Secretary of State Debra Bowen, California's chief elections official. "Thanks to the work of the Center for California Studies and the Institute for Social Research, we have a unique goldmine of election data that can be studied and used in countless ways."

CEDA reports dating back to 1995 are at sos.ca.gov/elections/county-city-school-district-election-results. The Secretary of State will publish subsequent annual reports each July.
