These photographs also relate to the Commission's investigation of Case 970 which pertained to the proposed consolidation of railroad operations into one "union terminal" in Los Angeles. Photographs depict the interior of Union Pacific Terminal (1923) and various railroad stations and yards in Los Angeles.

These photographs were generated by a PUC staff engineer during the course of the Commission's investigation of a case concerning a proposed "union terminal" which would combine the operations of all railroads in Los Angeles. Photographs document railroad and street–railroad lines, equipment, yards and stations. Included are Los Angeles street scenes which depict automobiles, trucks, and horse–drawn vehicles.

Contains PUC studies of railroad crossings which were illustrated with photographs. Studies encompassed the Los Angeles area and the San Francisco Bay Area and include street scenes in Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties in particular the cities of Venice, Van Nuys, San Bernardino, Redlands and Riverside. Train versus automobile accidents and accident sites are also documented.
