Secretary of State Alex Padilla to Speak about the Future of California Elections at University of California Center Sacramento

SACRAMENTO – Secretary of State Alex Padilla will speak to the University of California Center Sacramento about changes coming to California elections in 2018 and beyond. Secretary Padilla will discuss implementation of the landmark Voter’s Choice Act, which allows counties to transition to a system where every registered voter is automatically mailed a ballot and user friendly vote centers replace traditional polling places to provide voters greater flexibility. He will also discuss how automatic registration through the New Motor Voter Act and a new California law allowing Election Day voter registration will improve how Californians register and vote.
