Carly Fiorina Removes Name from California Presidential Primary Ballot
SACRAMENTO – The name of Carly Fiorina will not appear on the Republican Party’s Presidential Primary ballot in California.
Pursuant to California Elections Code, Fiorina filed an affidavit with California Secretary of State Alex Padilla today requesting to be removed from California’s June 7, 2016 Presidential Primary Election ballot.
Secretary of State Padilla previously received affidavits from Florida Senator Marco Rubio, Governor Jeb Bush, and Governor Chris Christie requesting to be removed to from the California ballot. A total of four Republican candidates for President have now requested to remove their names from the Presidential Primary ballot in California.
If a presidential candidate wishes to have his or her name withdrawn from the California Presidential Primary Election ballot, the candidate must file an affidavit with the Secretary of State no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 1, 2016.
