Ad Hoc Touch Screen Task Force Report

Dear Californian:

I am pleased to present a copy of the Report submitted to me by the Ad Hoc Touch Screen Task Force.

This Task Force was formed in response to concerns over the security of Direct Recording Electronic (DRE) voting machines that record votes electronically and the related issue of the value of a paper trail.

I am making this report available for public comment for 30 days. I encourage interested parties to submit comments on the Task Force's recommendations. These comments will be considered in combination with the Report when I issue my directions to the Voting Systems Panel on how California will address these issues.
