Secretary of State Alex Padilla to Discuss the Impact of Tech Innovation on Local and National Democracy at Coro’s TechXDemocracy Conference

SACRAMENTO – California Secretary of State Alex Padilla will speak on the keynote “Elections in the Digital Age” panel at Coro Southern California’s TechXDemocracy Conference. The conference is bringing together public and private sector leaders to explore the intersection of technology and democracy, and discuss how technology is changing the way people think about—and participate in—democratic society. Secretary Padilla is a '95 graduate of the Coro Fellowship.

Since being sworn in on January 5, 2015, Secretary Padilla has been committed to modernizing the office. He has launched the Secretary of State’s first official agency smartphone app, an online quick guide to propositions to provide easy access to campaign finance data and  brief nonpartisan analysis of ballot measures, and the My Voter Status tool to allow any California voter to check the status of their registration or vote-by-mail ballot online.
