Calif. Secretary of State Alex Padilla to Guest Lecture at UC San Diego Class on Voting Rights

 

WHO:

California Secretary of State Alex Padilla will be speaking at UC San Diego at a class led by Nathan Fletcher, a former member of the California Assembly and current UCSD professor of practice in political science. At a time when many states are restricting access to voting rights, and when unsubstantiated allegations of voter fraud are being made at the federal level, California is aggressively moving to take action to increase voter participation. The class will discuss the California model and its focus on engaging more voters, along with the recent national election and efforts to decrease voter participation

WHAT:

Special guest lecture in “Voting Rights Act: 50 Years Later,” a political science class at UC San Diego.
